One-Stop Recipe: Red Rice w/Coriander, Almonds & Apricots

Ingredients for One-Stop Recipes can all be sourced from your friendly neighborhood grocery, Green Aisle.

Stage 1 of Thanksgiving detox took place last night with a light-bodied dinner that starred our heirloom short-rain red rice. The rice hails from Bhutan, but takes to North African flavors like almonds and apricots surprisingly well. Roasted garlic gives it backbone. A jet of fresh orange keeps it bright. We topped the rice with cockles steamed in citrus and Saison Dupont–any excuse to beer shop at Hawthorne’s–but it’s just as flavorful on its own as a vegetarian entree. Read the rest of this entry »
