Vendor Profile: ReAnimator Coffee

Micro-roasters are a micro-club in our city. While there’s plenty of great coffee in Philly, the amount that’s roasted here is, literally, small beans. Enter the guys at Fishtown’s ReAnimator Coffee, adding to our city’s roasting cred since May. Owners Mark Capriotto and Mark Corpus aim to provide Philadelphia with freshly roasted, sustainable, single-origin coffee. That’s not to mention their overwhelming desire to ensure coffee beginners and enthusiasts know how to properly partake in their quality product.
Right now, they have four varietals, but they’re focusing on two: the Organic Costa Rica and FTO Honduras. Here’s a little info on them:
Organic Costa Rica:
Aroma: Floral, caramel
Taste: Acidic, very citrusy, bright lemon notes
Finish: Smooth, slight bright acidic tang, clean
FTO Honduras:
Aroma: Chocolate, Caramel, Vanilla
Taste: Bright, sweet, chocolate
Finish: Bitter sweet finish
You can get even more information about the beans on their website, including altitude of where the beans are harvested. In addition to detailed accounts of the varietals, the Marks give coffee drinkers illustrated brewing instructions for pour over, French press and cold-brew. Since all of ReAnimator’s coffee is whole bean, they even dedicated a section of their website to why you should invest in a grinder.
These guys are dedicated to you thoroughly enjoying your coffee drinking experience. Stay tuned to their Facebook for news as well as their Twitter where they tweet updates on what they’re roasting and other news.
